When BeUncommon set out to support Encircle, an organization that gives LGBTQ+ youth and their families a place to be seen, supported, and loved exactly as they are, they didn’t host a typical fundraiser. They hosted an experience. We brought that vision to life with a rainbow carpet entrance, stilt walkers, a living champagne table, and hand-painted unicornart installations, with a string quartet performing on illuminated stages as the sun went down. As night fell, an aerialist soared from a flower-wrapped chandelier and Duo Transcend, America’s Got Talent finalists, brought their world-famous skate routine to the stage. The night’s most powerful moment came last: guests released balloons inscribed with words like “not enough” and “unworthy,” replacing them with reminders that everyone deserves to hear: you are loved, you are worthy, you belong.
